Robbie Savage: ‘Very real possibility’ Everton get relegated this season after loss v West Ham United
Robbie Savage believes there is a “very real possibility” that Everton are relegated from the Premier League this season after defeat to West Ham.
The Toffees fell to a 2-0 defeat at the London Stadium thanks to two Jarrod Bowen goals in the first-half, leaving Frank Lampard’s side off the bottom of the table on goal difference alone.
And speaking on BT Sport Score (21 January, 16:56) immediately after the game, Savage called it a “very bad day” for the club and admitted that results just haven’t been good enough.

“It’s a very bad day, you can see all the banners about the board, Moshiri, Bill Kenwright,” he shared.
“Lampard is going around shaking all his players hands. ‘No communication, no vision, no plan’ is being held up in the away end as well.
“You have to say that after this game, will it be Frank’s last game? We’ll have to see what happens. Results haven’t been good enough. There are so many problems at Everton.
“There is a real possibility that Everton Football Club could be in the Championship next year.”
Everton will face Arsenal, Liverpool, Leeds, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United in their next nine fixtures, and Savage doesn’t see why any manager would want to come in at Goodison Park if Lampard was sacked.
“Wow,” he said in response to the fixtures appearing on screen.

“If they are to get rid of Frank, I’m not saying they will but if they are, who would want to take that on now? Who would want to take that? With their form and their confidence.”
Disaster
It’s quite simply a total disaster at Goodison Park and the board have surely now left it far too late to turn things around this season.
Everton should have been able to get a result in at the very least two of the last four games, but instead we’ve now lost 11 of the last 14 and won just one game in that time.
Now even if Lampard does finally get removed from his post, the next manager has lost a transfer window to make things more inclined towards what he’d want in his side.
He’ll also have a run of fixtures to come into that are absolutely shocking and the club would struggle to win at the best of times, so that won’t be great either.
Everything has gone on too long and now Everton are in real trouble barring a miracle. The board, owner and manager all need to go and we need to press rest quickly, or things will just get worse.
