Everton shareholder reacts as Wayne Rooney linked with Goodison Park return after Frank Lampard sack
Everton shareholder Mike Parry backs the idea of Wayne Rooney returning to Goodison Park to replace Frank Lampard at the helm.
The former Chelsea manager is all set to be sacked by the club and it’s only subject to an official announcement by the club.
Rooney, the Manchester United and Premier League legend, is in the mix and Parry wants him to be Lampard’s successor.
Via Twitter, he wrote, “I believe Wayne Rooney is big in the mix as the new Everton manager situation is being sorted out. If this is the case then I am a million per cent behind it.”
He deserves it
Rooney proved with Derby County how he can manage to get the right results when everything is going against him and his players.

He did end up getting relegated but that was due to the points deduction and he still kept his side in the hunt for the longest time.
It’s a different sort of challenge at DC United, but whatever he’s done, he deserves to be given the Everton job.
However, it remains to be seen if he accepts it or not as he’s previously turned it down and not a lot has changed at the club since then.
If he believes that this job is there for him five years down the line too then he probably will resist the urge to jump ship right away when it’s all so chaotic behind the scenes.
It is pretty clear that Farhad Moshiri is a big fan and is keen on giving him the job right away if he’s willing to leave the American capital and return to Merseyside.
