Nuno Espirito Santo release clause revealed as Everton sack Frank Lampard

Al-Ittihad manager Nuno Espirito Santo reportedly has a release clause of £8million should Everton look to appoint him.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves manager has worked with the Toffees’ director of football Kevin Thelwell previously and links have emerged once again.

According to the Times [23 January], Frank Lampard has been sacked and if the Portuguese is to be hired as his replacement the club will have to pay a decent fee.

Not needed

Nuno’s style of football is disastrous and the Toffees will be better off letting Leighton Baines be in charge of the first team than hire him.

At Wolves, he had an unfair advantage due to the club’s Portuguese ties which saw them signing players they normally would not have.

Once he went to Spurs and the pressure was high, he got sacked within a few months and that’s what’ll happen if he is appointed at Everton.

He was linked with a move to Goodison Park before Rafa Benitez was appointed and knowing Farhad Moshiri, he could turn to the former Wolves manager once again.

To Nuno’s credit, he did have some good times in the Premier League and even was prasied by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp back in 2019.

He said: “Nuno is doing an incredible job there. They are a talented team. They have Moutinho in midfield, Ruben Neves in midfield and whoever plays with the boys there, Dendoncker or whoever, that is just quality.”

However, we soon found out that it was more the players rather than the manager’s tactical nous and Everton need to be more thorough this time around with Marcelo Bielsa making a lot of sense.
