Complications arise in Everton quest to seal Arnaut Danjuma transfer from Villarreal

There have reportedly been some complications in the Everton quest to secure the services of Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma.

According to Transfersdotcom journalist Jacque Talbot who’s also featured in the Times and Mirror, the move has not been sealed.

It had been reported previously that he was set to join the club on a long until the end of the season and the move should have been completed by 24 January.

Via Twitter, Talbot wrote, “Hear there may have been some complications with Arnaut Danjuma’s move to Everton. More as I get it.”

New manager imminent?

The fact that suddenly this move is on hold or is complicated certainly will have something to do with the fact that the club are looking for a new manager.

Danjuma’s arrival was sanctioned based on the fact that Frank Lampard was the manager and it now remains to be seen if he’s still going to sign for the Toffees.

It also could mean that Bournemouth or West Ham, two clubs keen on signing the Dutchman, have made a last-gasp offer to secure his services.

He could have his head turned by either offers as one is his former club and the other one will offer him European football and the opportunity to stay in London.

It remains to be seen whether or not he ends up moving to Goodison Park as this is a move that makes a lot of sense for Everton.

They have been desperate to secure his services all month and it’ll be a massive blow in case they do not sign him now.
