Everton look into late January deal for Lucas Moura, Tottenham want to get rid now amid £150,000-a-week development
Everton are looking into a late January move for Tottenham forward Lucas Moura as the London club tries to get rid of him as soon as possible, according to Alan Nixon.
The newspaper journalist reported via his Patreon account on Sunday (29 January) that Lucas, 30, wants a £150,000-a-week contract with his terms at Spurs due to expire at the end of the season.
It is understood that the Brazilian ace is “aiming for a last lucrative move”.
Everton, Crystal Palace and Southampton are said to be in pursuit of a deal for Lucas with the January transfer window due to close at 11pm on Tuesday (31 January).
Spurs have stuck the ex-PSG attacker in the shop window by playing him in the Under-21s this week and while they’ve opened the door him to move on, he won’t go until he gets the big-money move that he so desperately seeks.
No, thanks

If it’s all about the money for Lucas then we don’t want him within arm’s reach of Goodison Park.
If he wants to spend the rest of the season playing for Spurs’ Under-21s before trying to bag a big to the Middle East or MLS then so be it.
But that’s not the kind of player Everton want and we very much doubt that it’s the kind of player Sean Dyche will want either.
Lucas’ best years are behind him and while Everton do need to plug some gaps in their attack due to Anthony Gordon’s imminent move to Newcastle and the general lack of goals this season, there are better options than the Brazilian.
Dyche and Kevin Thelwell are going to have a very busy couple of days as they try to make the most of the Gordon money to improve the attack.
Let’s hope they can get better results than what Frank Lampard managed last January when he signed Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek in last-gasp deals.
