Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher transfer preference shared amid Everton and Newcastle links
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher would reportedly fancy a move to Newcastle or a big six club as Everton make an opening bid for him.
According to Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, the Englishman wants to stay at Stamford Bridge and has a preference in case he’s forced to leave.
Eddie Howe is a long-term admirer of the 22-year-old and the Magpies may have to sign him on loan if they are to bring him in this month.
Via Twitter, Hope wrote, “Conor Gallagher £45m offer from Everton. Player wants to stay at Chelsea but could be told he’s got to go, in which case Newcastle (or top 6 club) would be desired. NUFC would need to put together a loan + obligation of at least £45m. Howe a big admirer. W/ colleague Simon Jones.”
Going to be tough
It’s not going to be easy convincing a player who’s not particularly keen on moving to Goodison Park this month.

Newcastle will give him higher wages and the chance to compete and perhaps even play Champions League football next season.
He does see himself as a big six player and Everton are still a while away from getting there and do not have the funds to compete with them either.
Chelsea are inclined to accept the offer from the Toffees, but at the end of the day, the player’s choice also matters and that’ll be the be all and end all.
Nothing we’ve heard suggests that Gallagher is excited to join Everton so we will wait and see how this transfer saga transpires in the coming hours.
If he does not want to join Sean Dyche’s side, it’s time that the club look at alternatives as there’s not long left in this window.
