Chelsea look to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as potential Everton move mooted
Chelsea have offered Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Everton as the West London club look to move the 33-year-old out of Stamford Bridge, according to Sacha Tavolieri.
The Belgium journalist has suggested (via Twitter, 31 January) Chelsea have been in contact with a number of Premier League clubs, including the Toffees, as they look to move the striker on.
However, it’s understood a move for the Gabon international is complicated, with the 33-year-old keen to stay in West London.
“Chelsea trying to find a way out for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang today,” wrote Tavolieri.
Chelsea have been in contact with Premier League clubs (Everton but not only). Even though a deal seems complicated, the Gabonese striker not wanting to go anywhere. Wait and see.”
Laughable
This rumour about the Chelsea striker is laughable and extremely unlikely to happen. The 33-year-old will be on extortionate wages and would be yet another example of the Toffees making a huge mistake in the transfer market. However, luckily, at the moment a move seems a long way off.
Aubameyang earns £160,000-a-week (The Mirror, 1 October) and would completely shatter the Toffees’ wage structure if he did move to Goodison Park. Furthermore, at 33, he will provide the club with little to no sell-on value. His form for Chelsea has also been extremely disappointing in the 2022/23 campaign.

There are also question marks over whether the Chelsea striker can even make the move to Goodison Park, having already played for Barcelona and Chelsea this year.
Sean Dyche must focus on more realistic targets as the window edges closer to its conclusion. Everton have been linked with a move to Udinese striker Beto, as the former Burnley boss desperately looks to land an attacker before Tuesday’s deadline.
