Everton need to submit huge transfer bid for Viktor Gyokeres as Coventry City stance emerges

Everton will reportedly have to submit an extraordinary offer if they are to convince Coventry City to sell Viktor Gyokeres on deadline day.

According to the Liverpool Echo [31 January], Coventry fancy their chances of competing for promotion and will only accept a “Huge” bid for the Sweden international.

The Toffees are understood to be desperate for a new striker on transfer deadline day after appointing Sean Dyche this week.

Another miss?

It appears to be a transfer window of rejections for Everton and the malaise does not seem to be ending any time soon.

They made an audacious offer for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher and the London club were even inclined to accept the bid.

However, the English midfielder snubbed any advances from the Toffees as he fancied Newcastle or any other big six club.

They looked like they were inching closer to signing Kamaldeen Sulemana but even he rejected them in order to join Southampton.

Now, it seems like Everton are going to fail in their quest to sign Gyokeres as well and it’s going to be back to the drawing board for them.

Hopefully, they have a backup in mind otherwise they’re going to be doomed as the window can be cruel on deadline day.
