Everton are reportedly unlikely to pursue a deal for former Real Madrid and Sevilla attacking midfielder despite being eligible to sign him on a free.
According to Times journalist Paul Joyce on 2 February, they considered signing the Spain international and Andre Ayew, who’s now joined Nottingham Forest.
However, they are not expected to end up with Isco either after his failed January move to Union Berlin.
Isco, a four-time Champions League winner, having won it most recently with Real Madrid in 2021/22, is a free agent after his contract at Sevilla was terminated.
No more options?
Even after the window shut, the two options that Everton were considering are now not going to be moving to Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche certainly would have demanded at least a couple of new signings as this squad is in desperate need of surgery.
Losing Anthony Gordon has only weakened the side and it reeks of dross mismanagement that they managed to weaken their side despite being in the relegation zone.
It remains to be seen if they have any other options in mind to bring in on free transfers as it’s paramount that they do that quickly.
Dyche will surely be wanting another attacker to replace Gordon and also to ease Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s load who has been underperforming this season for Everton.
It remains to be seen whether Neal Maupay leads the line along with the Englishman or if Dyche would prefer someone like Demarai Gray to cause chaos in behind opposition defences.
