DAZN journalist absolutely loves 'DycheBall' following Everton win v Arsenal in Premier League

DAZN journalist Roberto Rojas has branded Sean Dyche’s new brand of football at Everton as “football heritage” after they beat Arsenal.

The Toffees claimed a stunning 1-0 win over the league leaders after James Tarkowski headed home from a corner on the hour mark, the team’s first win since October.

But the performance was what stood out for many, with the blues competitive all over the pitch for the entirety of the game and Rojas took to his personal Twitter account (4 February) to declare “DycheBall” back and better than ever.

“DycheBall = football heritage,” he wrote.

“It’s amazing what a squad low on morale can do when a new manager comes in installing an idea from the get go athat allows you to get results.

“Arsenal looking very lethargic and off the pitch that made Everton take advantage & thus getting the win.”

Identity

Despite the miracle that Frank Lampard achieved at Goodison Park last season by securing us safety from relegation, one thing he never did at Everton was give his team an identity.

Every week the team turned up and nobody knew what to expect, whether it was defensive stability, free-flowing attacking, possession-based football or a mish-mash of all of the above.

But after less than a week as manager and one game, you can already see exactly what Dyche wants this Everton team to be and that is the sign of a great coach.

He wants this team to run hard, compete in all the individual duels, be hard to beat, be physical against the opposition and use the width in the team to cross the ball.

It worked against the league leaders and champions-elect, so there is no reason it can’t work against everyone else and suddenly survival doesn’t look so farfetched after all.
