Everton and Leeds United target Viktor Gyokeres expected to leave Coventry City

Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres is expected to leave in the summer amid links with Leeds United, Everton and Bournemouth.

According to TEAMtalk [21 January], the Whites are prepared to sign the Sweden international even if they get relegated.

Gyokeres has bagged 14 league goals this season and was being considered by the Toffees in the January window as well but his valuation was too high.

However, with a year remaining on his deal in the summer, Coventry are resigned to losing him ahead of the start of next season.

Premier League matters

All the three teams mentioned above will be fighting against relegation towards the business end of the season.

Gyokeres would not want to move to another Championship club if he is indeed going to be sold in the summer.

He would want to take the step up to the Premier League and any team wanting to sign him will have a better chance if they’re in the top flight.

Everton

Hopefully, Everton can achieve their primary goal under Sean Dyche which is to stay in the Premier League and then after that they can consider making new signings.

Whether or not Dyche wants him is another thing as links to the Sweden international have been around before he moved to Goodison Park.

Gyokeres required a huge bid to be signed in January but that is unlikely to be the case in the summer transfer window.
