Sky Sports pundit slams Everton attacker Dele Alli as Beskitas banish him from squad

Darren Bent has slammed Everton loanee Dele Alli after he’s been banished from the Besiktas matchday squad with the club opting against signing him permanently.

The England international went to Turkey on loan to prove his worth but has not left a good impression on the hierarchy of his new club.

According to Turkish media outlet Takvim [9 March], Besiktas boss Senol Gunes does not want to include the 26-year-old in the squad anymore.

Darren Bent, a Sky Sports pundit, told talkSPORT, “I don’t know what’s happened. Burst on the scene with Spurs scoring goal. Burst on the scene with England and was brilliant.

“It’s actually quite sad. When you see someone that good and where they are now, you just think ‘What was happened?’

“That’s the problem. I don’t think anyone in the Premier League takes him.

“He’s had Pochettino, Mourinho. When you talk about goal scoring midfielders, there’s nobody better than Frank Lampard and even he couldn’t get the best out of him.”

Get rid

There’s no need to have Alli on the books when he’s back as he’s going to be on decent wages and clearly isn’t good enough.

There are players that come up from the academy who are better than the 26-year-old and that’s saying something given how high the bar was for him under Pochettino.

We do not know what’s happened to him but this kind of decline is unreal and he appears to be beyond redemption at the highest level.

Bent is right, no Premier League side would be willing to take the punt on him and that’s perhaps down to his attitude and lack of professionalism.

We were stunned when Everton were even linked with signing the former Spurs man and as expected, it’s not been a good move.

This will also mean that they won’t be making any money off him as Besiktas do not want to sign him permanently.
