Joleon Lescott predicts result of Everton Premier League showdown v Tottenham
Former Everton defender Joleon Lescott has delivered his prediction for the huge Premier League clash with Tottenham on Monday evening [3 April] with both teams desperately needing a win.
Sean Dyche’s side are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches so far and are coming off of an impressive 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 18 March, after Ellis Simms’ impressive late equaliser.
And speaking to Livescore [31 March], Lescott believes that Spurs tend to struggle against sides that sit deep like Everton but expects the North Londoners to claim the three points at Goodison Park.

He said: “Spurs are a hard team to read after Antonio Conte’s departure. But if they play in a similar style under interim boss Cristian Stellini, they’ll be in trouble.
“They’ve traditionally struggled against sides who sit back like Everton yet I think they may just sneak the win.
“Prediction: Everton 1-2 Tottenham.”
Home surprise
Tottenham have been dreadful on the road in the Premier League this season, so the Toffees will have no fears heading into this game having gone three games unbeaten and their Premier League survival in their hands.
For sure, the North Londoners will enter this game with a point to prove after Conte’s departure but if Dyche can get his men believing like that have been in their last three encounters, then they’ve got a great chance of causing another scalp just like they did against Spurs’ fierce rivals Arsenal in February, and in claiming an unlikely draw against Chelsea before the international break.

With a trip to Old Trafford against Manchester United on the horizon also, this is a game Dyche will believe his men are most likely to claim a result and it is certainly not far from them if they start the game fast and with intensity and aggression.
Everton face a pivotal few weeks in their quest to beat the drop once again, and they have a massive chance of doing just that with the former Burnley boss who’s seen it and done it all before.
