Manchester Mayor gushes over Everton captain Seamus Coleman for incident with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane
Andy Burnham, the Manchester Mayor, was impressed by Everton captain Seamus Coleman giving Harry Kane a mouthful during the 1-1 draw.
Tottenham Hotspur visited Goodison Park on Monday, 3 April, hoping to pick up the three points and had a wonderful chance with the hosts going down to ten men.
Abdoulaye Doucoure got sent off for raising his arm at Kane and the Spurs attacker went down despite the slightest of touches which saw Coleman fume at him.
Burnham wrote on Twitter, “Love Seamus Coleman. Proper footballer.”
Gave it to him
While it’s understandable to send Doucoure off as actions like that have no place in the modern game, it’s ridiculous to see Kane hit the deck like that.
Players take sliding tackles on the shin and still do not go down in the manner he did after his face was touched.
It was a disgraceful act done just so that the Everton midfielder gets sent off and that the visitors are advantaged going into the final stages of the game.

It was poetic to see them lose their lead and it was no less than what the Toffees deserved from that game.
They took a giant step towards avoiding relegation although the Super Computer does not predict too many great things in the future for them.
It’s on to Dyche and co to defy these predictions and to ensure that the Toffees go into their next few games all guns blazing.
