Seamus Coleman doomed to leave Everton in summer amid worrying contract update at Goodison park
Everton could be on the verge of losing one of the most experienced players, with no talk of a contract extension for defender Seamus Coleman.
It comes despite the right-back playing a key role for the Toffees this season, with the 34-year-old making 24 appearances in all competitions.
He’s even worn the captain’s armband for the most part, but seemingly remains in the dark about his current contract at Goodison Park.

Coleman is one of eight Everton players who are out of contract this summer, and one of 11 who are destined to leave, according to the Liverpool Echo, who wrote of Coleman: “The Everton veteran has been an integral figure over the years and even at 34, he’s enjoyed plenty of game time this season due to frequent injuries to Nathan Patterson.
“His experience and presence in the squad is still key but there hasn’t been any talk of a new deal with his current one set to expire in the summer.”

With little update in sight, Coleman might already be thinking of his future plans, particularly if Everton drop down to the Championship.
For once, however, there may be some comparisons between the Toffees and their fierce rivals Liverpool, with James Milner seemingly in a similar position with the Reds.
The veteran midfielder, who has also played in Coleman’s right-back position, could serve as an example for Coleman not to give up hope just yet.
Amid offers from other Premier League clubs and indeed elsewhere last summer with his deal expiring, Milner signed on with the Reds for another year.
He is three years older than the Republic of Ireland defender, and while Milner could finally leave Liverpool this summer, it may be Coleman’s turn to sign a brief extension in the blue half of Merseyside.
A major difference between the pair is, however, the fact that Coleman is currently a key player for the Toffees, playing regularly week in week out after initially watching on from the bench in the early stages of the season.
But his determination has shone through, with that persistence to keep his place in the starting XI set to transfer to his attitude between now and the end of the season, with his aim undoubtedly to keep Everton in the top flight.
Manager Sean Dyche has already made it clear that his priority is also remaining in the division, with Coleman and several others therefore expected to be made to wait until the very latter stages of the campaign to find out their futures.
