Injury expert shares Everton update ahead of Premier League clash v Crystal Palace

Sean Dyche has five Everton players ruled out for their upcoming Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, according to injury expert Ben Dinnery.

Dyche’s side will look to bounce back from their disappointing 3-1 defeat to Fulham last weekend, which left the Toffees on 27 points and only above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Writing for the Premier Injuries website, Dinnery shared that first-team star Amadou Onana is ruled out with a groin strain that has no return date yet, while fellow midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure remains suspended after picking up a red card in the 1-1 draw against Spurs.

Everton

Seamus Coleman is ruled out against the Eagles with a thigh injury that has a potential return date of 27 April, while Dele Alli and Andros Townsend remain sidelined with their long-term injuries.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin stands a 25% chance of featuring on Saturday, with a potential return date of 22 April, while Ruven Vinagre also holds a 25% chance of returning from his calf injury.

Depleted

The 3-1 defeat to Fulham seemed to such all the energy out of Goodison Park at the weekend, and such injuries as the above really won’t help the relegation dogfight.

Dyche’s team lacked imagination, belief and creativity in front of their home faithful, and considering this came against a Fulham side arriving on the back of four defeats, it is that much more worrying.

The absence of Doucoure in midfield over the last two defeats really has been evident, with the Toffees having to rejig their plans to accommodate in the middle of the park.

The 30-year-old provides Everton with so much energy and presence in the midfield, and alongside Onana, will be a great miss to Everton.

Considering these two players being ruled out and the absence of Coleman due to a thigh injury, Dyche will certainly be up against it to go and claim a result from Roy Hodgson’s in-form Crystal Palace side.
