Neal Maupay could exit Everton amid links to Aberdeen striker Duk

Neal Maupay’s time at Everton has been one to forget for all involved with just one Premier League goal to his name during the 2022/23 season.

The 26-year-old’s wretched campaign has already seen exit talk swirl and with the Toffees looking to strengthen in attacking areas, things certainly don’t look good for the Frenchman.

According to the Daily Mail (April 10), Salernitana want to revisit a move for Maupay in the summer after failing to land the forward during the January window.

It’s believed the Toffees are looking for £7.9million for the striker, who has also been linked with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe in recent weeks (Aspor, 28 March).

Furthermore, Everton’s own transfer activity has clearly seen their cards laid on the table when it comes to Maupay’s future on Merseyside.

The Toffees have been linked with a move for Aberdeen’s 18-goal striker, Duk, with the Dons slapping a £6.5million price tag on the 23-year-old.

Everton

If Everton have to be smart in the upcoming window and selling Maupay could fund a move for the Cape Verde international. In fact, if the Aberdeen man was signed for the asking price and the Frenchman was sold, the Merseysiders would be £1.4million in the green.

Another forward is absolutely essential moving forward for Sean Dyche. Dominic Calvert-Lewin cannot be trusted to stay fit and Ellis Simms is still finding his feet in the Premier League.

Duk is a player who is on the up and could develop further if he does make the move to Goodison Park. This could well be a saga to keep an eye on in the coming months.
