Alan Shearer names Yerry Mina in Premier League Team of the Week as Everton draw crushes Leeds United
Alan Shearer has named Everton defender Yerry Mina in his Premier League Team of the Week.
It comes after the Toffees centre-back scored a 99th-minute equaliser against Wolves in their clash at Molineux on Saturday (20 May).
The draw means Everton go into the final day of the season sitting two points outside the relegation zone.
Sean Dyche’s side host Bournemouth at Goodison Park on Sunday (28 May), and are now in a stronger position than Leeds United and Leicester City to stay up.
“That could be the most important touch he produces this season with that stoppage-time equaliser against Wolves,” Shearer wrote for the official Premier League website.

There have been plenty of huge moments in the Premier League for the relegation-threatened clubs this season, but perhaps none of them come close to Mina’s last-ditch effort at Molineux.
An unlikely goalscorer, the centre-back was at the right place at the right time to secure a much-needed point for the Toffees, with that point potentially keeping them in the Premier League for another season.
The Merseyside outfit only just managed to stay up last time out, but this time around it is even closer, with Dyche’s men now in a much more positive situation than their rivals thanks to Mina’s late strike.
But plenty of pressure still remains on Everton, with Leicester picking up a point in their 0-0 draw with Newcastle United on Monday (22 May).
The Foxes have it all to do in their last match of the season against West Ham, but plenty of twists and turns can be expected on the final day of the campaign.
