Chris Sutton makes Everton relegation prediction ahead of crunch clash v Bournemouth
Chris Sutton has made his Premier League relegation picks ahead of the final day of the season, and backed Everton to avoid the drop.
The Toffees head into the last game at home to Bournemouth knowing that a win will be enough to secure their status for another year, regardless of what Leeds or Leicester do in their respective fixtures.
And when responding to a tweet from the official BBC Sport account, Sutton admitted he expects Everton to stay up now based on the balance of probability.
“On the balance of probability.. I’d say Everton…” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (23 May).
In our hands
If you had given Everton fans and Sean Dyche this scenario back in January when he took over the job as manager, then we would all likely have bitten your hands off for it.

If Everton win against a Bournemouth side who are playing for nothing other than pride right now, then the Premier League survival is confirmed.
We don’t have to worry about what is happening at other grounds on the day, which means fans will be fully immersed in the atmosphere and the happenings on the pitch to support the team.
Of the 16 potential scenarios that can happen on Sunday (28 May), 11 of them see Everton safe and two of them require Leeds to beat Tottenham by 3+ goals to relegate us.
If we go down now there is nobody to blame but ourselves and the players will know that. It’s now or never to step up and get the job done.
