Neil Lennon shares Everton Premier League relegation verdict live on talkSPORT

Neil Lennon would “much rather be” in the position of Everton than Leicester City going into the final day of the Premier League.

The Toffees currently sit 17th in the table on 33 points, two points and one place ahead of the Foxes.

Everton host Bournemouth at Goodison Park on Sunday (28 May), with Leicester hosting West Ham at the King Power Stadium.

“All Leicester can do now is win their game and hope that results go their way,” Lennon said live on talkSPORT.

“But it’s not a great position to be in, I’d much rather be in Everton’s position.”

Huge day

It’s going to be a massive final Premier League day, with the Toffees definitely in a better position given their points tally.

But Leicester can take plenty of confidence from their better goal difference, which currently stands at -18, compared to Everton’s -24.

The Foxes have not been goal-shy this season, but their worrying defensive record has kept them involved in the Premier League relegation battle.

But Dean Smith can also take confidence from the fact that they take on a West Ham side that will be fully focused on their Europa Conference League final.

Given that game in Prague early next month, along with the Hammers having already secured their Premier League safety, David Moyes could put out a much weaker team than usual.

There is, of course, the matter of Leeds United having to take on Tottenham in their final match of the season.

Even though the North London outfit are struggling to find form, the likes of lethal striker Harry Kane will still pose a huge threat to Sam Allardyce’s side.
