Jermaine Pennant stunned live on talkSPORT after ‘absolutely brutal’ Everton ‘joke club’ claim
Jermaine Pennant shared an “absolutely brutal” verdict after talkSPORT host Jordan Jarrett-Bryan claimed Everton are a “joke club” live on talkSPORT.
The latter is feeling the heat from Toffees fans after he told talkSPORT listeners that he would like to see the club be relegated.
The Toffees currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, two points outside of the relegation zone with just one match remaining.
“Everton fans are not happy with me saying that of the three teams that are in trouble this weekend, my preference would be for Everton to go down,” Jarrett-Bryan said live on talkSPORT.
“I think when you mess around for that long and you become a little bit of a joke club in the Premier League i think you have to take your medicine, and I think this is the season they deserve to go.”
Pennant replied: “That’s absolutely brutal.”

These really are nervous times to be an Everton supporter, with the club in real danger of an unthinkable relegation from the Premier League.
But the worrying signs have been there for quite some time, with the Toffees only just managing to stay in the division last time out.
To say Everton have been a mess for so long may be unfair, with the Merseyside outfit securing impressive Premier League finishes not so long ago, but they have definitely let standards slip in recent times.
Two successive relegation battles really isn’t what the powers that be at Everton would have imagined, meaning things really do need to change drastically this summer, regardless of what happens when they take on Bournemouth on Sunday (28 May).
With financial issues behind the scenes, dropping down to the Championship would make things so much worse, but fortunately for Toffees fans, they control their own destiny on Sunday.
