BBC pundit delivers Everton relegation verdict amid new stadium in works

Glenn Murray believes that Everton are in the best position to deal with relegation in comparison to Leeds United and Leicester City.

Despite having a new stadium on the horizon, the BBC pundit believes that they can handle going down the best compared to the other two.

Sean Dyche has been in the Championship and knows how to bring his team back up, while Leeds and Leicester may both have new managers next season.

Everton are planning to move from Goodison Park to their new stadium by 2025.

Murray told the BBC, “I look at Everton. They’ve got a stable manager. Someone that has done it in the Championship, done it in the Premier League and I know that they’ve got a new stadium on the horizon but I feel they are in the best situation to deal with relegation.”

Don’t want the risks

Dyche may be a talented manager who’s got the expertise of the second tier but it’s going to be a lot tougher with everything going on.

There’s a chance that investment could be pulled and also that FFP sanctions come into place making it tough to sign new players.

Whatever Everton need to do for next season, it needs to be done in the Premier League, especially with the new stadium in the works.

The revenue the Premier League generates is second to none and nothing in the Championship can quite equate to that.

Parachute payments will help but the squad will also get overhauled and replacing them in the second tier is not going to be easy.

Right now, the focus will be on the Bournemouth game and they will be hoping that the number of absentees in the Cherries squad sees Everton get over the line.
