Alan Myers issues Everton first transfer update amid links to Leeds United attacker Rodrigo

Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers has shared the latest Everton transfer news amid links to Leeds United attacker Rodrigo this summer.

Myers believes that there could be movement towards securing a new signing for the Toffees by next week, but there’s still nothing certain about it.

He also hints at Leeds’ Rodrigo being the first signing of the Sean Dyche era at Goodison Park after no new players walked through the door in January.

Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “I think we may see movement by Monday but can’t guarantee it. My guess would be the first one will be Rodrigo but let’s see.”

Get it done

Rodrigo may be on the wrong side of 30 but he’s proven that regardless of his age, he’s got what it takes to perform at the highest level.

Even for a struggling Leeds side, he was one of the few players who stepped up to the occasion and delivered and that’s precisely what Dyche would want.

The Spaniard offers a lot off the ball and can play out wide as well so that’s an added benefit of having him in the side.

Leeds appear to have an odd clause attached to their players’ contracts that lets them leave on loan should they get relegated.

It remains to be seen if that exists for the Spaniard and even if it doesn’t, he would still be open to moving to a Premier League club.

If Leeds want to do a sale then they won’t be able to demand much and he’ll be a good value for money addition at Goodison Park.

In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
