Alan Myers issues updates on Everton duo Dele Alli and Andre Gomes
Alan Myers has issued an update on the exit-linked Everton duo of Dele Alli and Andre Gomes with the squad back for pre-season.
The Sky Sports news editor claims that both of them have travelled to Switzerland from the United Kingdom for the game against Stade Nyonnaise in Nyon on Friday, 14 July.
A total of 28 players have travelled for the game as Sean Dyche looks to get his players ready in his first pre-season at Goodison Park.
Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “A squad of 28 has flown out for Everton’s pre-season training camp in Switzerland, Andre Gomes, Dele Alli, Amadou Onana and Tom Cannon are all included in the travelling group. Everton will play Stade Nyonnaise in Nyon on Friday.”
Fighting for their chance?
Alli and Gomes both spent last season out on loan and will now be looking to either fight under Dyche or get themselves ready for a move elsewhere.
Both players had contrasting spells with Gomes being a success, so much so that LOSC Lille manager Paulo Fonseca wants him back at the club, according to the Liverpool Echo [30 June].

For the Englishman, a spell at Besiktas proved to be a disastrous one and they decided not to exercise the option to buy him.
It remains to be seen if, despite his injury issues, Alli will stay on as an Everton player beyond the end of the transfer window.
At 27, an argument can be made that he could still turn things around and be an asset for whichever club he joins.
For Gomes, it seems like his days in the Premier League are done and a slow-paced game, like that in France, is what will suit him.
In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
