Everton transfer news: £20m update emerges in pursuit of Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga
Everton have reportedly taken a significant step towards securing the services of Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga.
According to the BBC on 13 July, the Toffees have tabled a bid between £15million and £20million to sign the 21-year-old Sweden international.
The Toffees have been in talks with Elanga and United and now the first offer has been submitted for him.

The BBC have amended their article in the past few minutes.

Too expensive
Elanga may be a decent player but the numbers involved suggest that he’s going to be the most expensive signing of the summer for the Toffees.
While they need a wide attacker, there are better options there in the market that will come for similar money.
He’s not managed to cut it at a Manchester United side that’s filled with expensive players who can bring the best out of him so to think he will turn a new leaf at Goodison Park is wishful, to say the least.

His goal-scoring or chance-creation numbers are also far from impressive and there’s a very good argument to be made that he will not be an upgrade on Dwight McNeil and Alex Iwobi.
It remains to be seen if the first offer is accepted or if the Old Trafford outfit are demanding more for the Sweden international.
The Toffees have signed Ashley Young so he will be the second signing if this move ends up going through.
In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
