Injury Expert reacts as Everton want to sign Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...
Everton will be weighing up the risks and rewards in their pursuit to sign Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
Daily Mail reported in June 2023 that the Toffees had already made contact with the Whites over the signing of the United States international.
Adams missed Leeds’ unsuccessful fight against relegation as he picked up a grade 3 hamstring tear which saw him miss the remainder of the season.

A number of players at Elland Road are seeking loan exits after the club suffered relegation, with clauses in their contracts allowing them to.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “Adams had a grade 3 hamstring tear which typically comes with a 10-12 week return timeline.
“Considering Everton’s limited budget and Sean Dyche’s physical playing style, the risk/reward of bringing in Adams certainly has to be weighed up, particularly since hamstring injuries and reinjuries are highly prevalent.”
Dyche imposes a high work rate and physical approach from his midfielders and often wants his players to get stuck in.

While they’re known to hold their shape and contain pressure before hitting the opposition on the break, every midfielder has a specific duty off the ball.
Given Adams’ mobility and the availability of deep-lying options at Goodison Park, Dyche may even ask him to play a slightly more advanced role.
It remains to be seen if Leeds will sanction his exit if the United States international would want to leave after just one year.
In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
