Alan Myers delivers verdict on Everton transfer quest to sign Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto
Alan Myers has delivered a verdict on the Everton quest to secure the services of Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto this summer.
The Sky Sports journalist claims [15 July] that he does not believe the Italy international will be next one through the door.
The Toffees have already roped in Ashley Young on a free transfer and have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old as well.
When asked about Gnonto on Twitter, Myers responded, “I don’t believe he will be the next signing through the door let’s put it that way.”
Not so close then?
There were claims that Gnonto was closing in on a move to Goodison Park after the Whites got relegated from the Premier League.
The Italian was used sparingly last season in the Premier League and it’s no surprise that they ended up going down.
Gnonto is among their most talented attackers and has the ability to turn the game around in the blink of an eye.

He would undoubtedly be an important signing for the Toffees and along with playing out wide, he has the ability to shine down the middle as well.
It remains to be seen where Sean Dyche thinks he can manage to bring the best of him as if Arnaut Danjuma or Anthony Elanga arrive, they will be expecting to start on the left.
These certainly are interesting times for the Toffees and if they can manage to sign Gnonto, it’ll be a real coup.
In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
