Everton midfielder James Garner has sent a four-word message to Anthony Elanga after his move to Nottingham Forest.

As confirmed by the official Nottingham Forest website, Elanga has joined the club from Manchester United on a five-year deal.

And among the people sending the Sweden international warm messages of congratulations was Everton midfielder Garner.

“What a privilege to sign for this historic football club!” Elanga posted on Instagram. “I’m honestly so happy and excited to be here, I haven’t stopped smiling!

“Thank you for the amazing welcome Nottingham Forest. Thank you God”

Commenting on the post, Everton ace Garner wrote: “Do your thing brother.”

Exciting signing

Elanga has impressed in his brief career so far, with the 21-year-old boasting over 50 appearances for Premier League giants Manchester United.

But he wasn’t slow to realise that opportunities with the Red Devils are going to be increasingly hard to come by as the club return to their best under Erik ten Hag.

And that situation has resulted in a switch to Nottingham Forest, where he will no doubt have the chance to shine on a regular basis under Steve Cooper.

The club do, however, have a long list of players in their squad, meaning Elanga must work hard on the training ground if he is to become a star man on the pitch.

There is every chance that the youngster will come up against Everton ace Garner in the upcoming season, and there is even a chance that they will come up against one another directly.

The new Nottingham Forest man could operate at left-wing, while there is potential for Garner to be played at right-back.
