Everton transfer news as Roma identify Leicester City ace Patson Daka as Dominic Calvert-Lewin alternative
Roma have identified Leicester City ace Patson Daka as a “potential alternative” to Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to Get Football News Italy.
The publication reported on its website on Thursday (27 July) that the Foxes striker is being targeted by Roma as a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata looks unlikely.
The Toffees ace has been added to Roma’s shortlist for potential new forwards this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport (26 July).

“Apart from Calvert-Lewin, another potential alternative for the striker’s role for Roma happens to be Leicester City’s Patson Daka,” according to Get Football News Italy.
“A move for Alvaro Morata now looks more and more unlikely, with the Roman side exploring alternatives.”

Welcome news
The idea that Roma are targeting Leicester attacker Daka will be welcome news to Everton boss Sean Dyche and indeed everyone connected with the Merseyside club.
Even though the Toffees forward is very much injury prone and hasn’t been at his best for quite some time, he remains the club’s most lethal striker, with hope remaining that he can shrug off his injury issues to have a strong upcoming season.
Moreover, Everton really don’t have many other options in that area, with Ellis Simms having recently departed for Coventry City.
Neal Maupay is there, but his future at the club is uncertain amid a very underwhelming first campaign on Merseyside.
Youngster Tom Cannon is another option, but he could be sent out on loan once more after impressing at Preston North End last time out.
One potential option for Dyche is new recruit Arnaut Danjuma, with the forward having arrived on loan from Villarreal.
