Tom Cannon sends three-word message to Lewis Warrington after Everton loan transfer

Tom Cannon has sent Lewis Warrington a three-word message after the latter left Everton on loan for Plymouth Argyle.

The midfielder has joined the newly-promoted Championship club on a season-long loan, as confirmed by the official Plymouth website.

Plymouth topped League One last season with 101 points, and have confirmed Warrington as their seventh summer signing.

Sharing the news of his loan move, Warrington posted on Instagram: “Buzzing to sign for Plymouth Argyle for the season, can’t wait to play in front of the green army. Let’s make this season one to remember.”

Fellow Toffees youngster Cannon commented: “Good luck brother.”

Good move

Everton academy graduate Warrington has already spent two loans away from the Merseyside club, having previously temporarily lined out for both Tranmere Rovers and Fleetwood Town.

The youngster may have thought this was his season to break into Sean Dyche’s first-team plans, particularly after just playing 45 minutes under the boss in the club’s goalless pre-season draw against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday (25 July).

But it is not meant to be, with the 20-year-old now set to gain vital experience at Plymouth, in what is a very exciting time for the club.

They are on an upward trajectory following their promotion last season, and that atmosphere should help Warrington have a great time on loan.

Despite Everton’s lack of summer signings, it seems that Dyche, for now, is satisfied with his midfield options, with the manager clearly viewing Warrington’s progression as being away from Goodison Park for the time being.
