Tottenham star Son Heung-min backs ‘strong’ Dele Alli to ‘come back’ after Everton struggles
Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min has backed Everton player Dele Alli to “come back” after his Goodison Park struggles.
The Toffees midfielder revealed in an interview with Gary Neville on The Overlap earlier this month that he had spent time in a rehabilitation facility amid an addiction to sleeping pills.
Alli spent several years playing alongside Son at the North London outfit before the former departed for Everton last January.

“I feel really sorry about it because he is one of my close, close friends,” Son told ESPN. “But he’s definitely a strong guy that I always trust.
“I will always believe in him — [that] he will come back as a strong person as before. I’m definitely supporting him.”

Hope remains
Many people have written off Alli’s chances of returning to his best self for any club, never mind the Merseyside outfit.
His loan spell at Besiktas certainly did not go to plan last season, but the same can be said for a lot of loan moves, so perhaps it is best not to focus on that issue alone.
As revealed in his interview with Neville, Alli has clearly been through a tough time, but there are plenty of people out there who have shown their support for the Toffees midfielder.
One can only hope that such support will be enough to spur the player on ahead of the new Premier League season.
Everton have very few distractions to worry about when it comes to matters on the pitch, with manager Sean Dyche therefore able to focus on trying his best to grind out wins in the league campaign.
Off-field distractions have hampered the Merseyside club in recent times, and they now need experienced players like Alli to step up and be counted for.
