Everton set to monitor offers as Dominic Calvert-Lewin transfer update emerges

Roma manager Jose Mourinho and football director Tiago Pinto are both keen on signing Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, per Corriere dello Sport.

According to the Italian newspaper [27 July], the Toffees are set to monitor all offers they receive for the England international this summer.

That’s because they’re facing a financial crunch and need to raise funds in order to make new signings themselves.

Sell at the right price

At 26, Calvert-Lewin is not even hit his peak and still is a big name so he could demand a decent transfer fee this summer.

A couple of years ago, fans would be astounded by the suggestions of selling him as he was among the best if not the best player for them.

However, the situation now is very different and his fitness proves to be a major issue not just for the last season but for two years.

Everton

Sean Dyche has been desperate for a new striker largely because the club’s first choice option is seldom fit and even when he is, there does not seem to be anything that proves he’ll be reliable when the chips are down.

Mourinho likes tall and physical strikers, much like Dyche, but he might feel that the tempo in Italy suits Calvert-Lewin.

This could mitigate the number of injuries he suffers and having watched him numerous times in the Premier League, the Portuguese may be sold on him already.

In other Everton news, an exit-linked Toffees player has recently been spotted in talks with a senior Goodison Park figure ahead of the new season.
