Everton transfer news as contact made for Che Adams and Patson Daka loan
Everton have made contact with Leicester City regarding a deal to bring Zambian striker Patson Daka to Goodison Park, as well as Southampton forward Che Adams, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper shared in its print edition [8 August, pg 63] that Everton had asked Leicester about the possibility of taking Daka on loan, although the Foxes would prefer to do a permanent deal for the pacy hitman. It is unclear what the deal for Adams would look like.
A permanent deal for Daka could be pricey for Everton, with Leicester having signed the forward from RB Salzburg for £25.8million just two years ago, and will surely look to recuperate most of that money despite their relegation from the Premier League.

Everton exploring their options
It has been well-documented that Sean Dyche wants to improve his side’s attacking firepower this summer, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury issues always a worry, while Neal Maupay cannot be trusted to provide goals regularly.
The imminent arrival of Sporting forward Youssef Chermiti will lessen that need, but Everton are expected to try to bring in a more experienced option alongside him, of which Daka fits the bill.
With two years of Premier League experience under his belt, Daka’s pace and confidence in front of goal would provide the Toffees with something different to their other options, and he could be effective in a two-man pairing with Calvert-Lewin should Dyche favour a 4-4-2 system this season.

While Daka’s stats don’t make for great reading, having scored just four goals from 30 Premier League appearances last time out, the numbers are inflated by most of his appearances coming off the bench. He played an average of 39 minutes per game.
The Zambian’s time at Salzburg is more of a true reflection of the player he is, with 27 goals and seven assists from 28 Austrian Bundesliga games standing out as a ridiculously impressive tally.
