Everton transfer news as likely winner emerges in race to sign Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi

Everton now look set to miss out on the services of Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi to Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest.

According to Sky Sports on Friday (25 August, 16:58), Forest are close to agreeing a transfer fee with the London outfit.

Personal terms are also not understood to be an issue as he wants the move to the City Ground, falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Sky wrote in their transfer centre, “Nottingham Forest are close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea for the permanent signing of forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

“Talks continue over structure and payment terms.

“Personal terms on a long-term contract not expected to be a problem.

“Hudson-Odoi has entered the final year of his contract at Chelsea.

“He was close to joining Fulham earlier this month, but the clubs couldn’t agree a deal.”

The Guardian reported on August 23 that the Toffees were considering hijacking the deal for Hudson-Odoi – who at the time appeared set to join Fulham.

However, it feels like they have failed in their pursuit to sign him as he’s now on the cusp of agreeing a deal to join forces with Steve Cooper.

This certainly will not sit well with Sean Dyche who also wanted to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United and it now looks unlikely that he’ll be moving to Goodison Park.

It remains to be seen if they can make a last-gasp effort to convince Hudson-Odoi, but as things stand, he does appear to be Forest bound.

In other Everton news, a first-team player linked with a Premier League rival club may now force his Goodison Park exit unless Sean Dyche axes a senior man.
