Fabrizio Romano issues bid update as Everton ramp up Beto transfer pursuit

Everton have submitted another formal bid to secure the services of Udinese striker Beto, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on Friday (25 August) that the Toffees have raised their offer to £25.7million for the Portuguese striker.

He claims that their previous offer was £21.4million for the Portuguese striker and that was rejected by the Italian club.

Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Everton have submitted new formal bid for Beto after €25m proposal revealed yesterday — now up to €30m Udinese always asked for €35m as value of the release clause but clubs working on add-ons structure now. Talks underway.”

Making moves

Everton aren’t messing about the Beto pursuit and it’s refreshing to note for anyone supporting the Toffees.

News emerged of MSP Sports Capital pulling out from their agreed investment deal into the club and that led to doubts about further transfers.

However, this shows that they’re ready to spend the big bucks to sign players that will perhaps keep them in the division.

Beto is someone who Sean Dyche has wanted since he joined Goodison Park and there are hopes that this one is accepted sooner rather than later.

They can then discuss personal terms and the next steps of the transfer but once an agreement is reached between the clubs, that’s the battle half won.

Unless there are clubs that can offer him Champions League football or ridiculous wages, there’s no reason for him to turn down a move to Goodison Park.

In other Everton news, a first-team player linked with a Premier League rival club may now force his Goodison Park exit unless Sean Dyche axes a senior man.
