Fabrizio Romano shares Demarai Gray stance at Everton after what Sean Dyche has now said publicly

Demarai Gray believed that an Everton exit in the summer transfer window was done, according to Sean Dyche, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Reporting via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday (5 September), Romano noted that Gray only wants to join the Saudi Pro League.

Their transfer deadline remains open until Thursday (7 September), but Romano has shared Dyche’s clear feelings that the player cannot leave without the club’s blessing.

Referencing quotes from Dyche, Romano posted on Twitter: “Demarai Gray made it clear that he felt he was getting a move and that a move was done, which was interesting to hear from a player…

“We reminded him of the truth that no move is done without this club’s say-so.” Romano added: “Demarai only wants to join Saudi league.”

Exit likely

It seems that Gray will remain an Everton player for the time being, given how he wasn’t allowed to leave Goodison Park before the English transfer deadline.

But there remains time for the winger to force through a Toffees exit before the Saudi deadline. If that exit doesn’t come, it is likely that the 27-year-old will once again try and leave in the January window.

Dyche needs all the players he can get at the Merseyside club this season amid a disastrous start to the new Premier League campaign.

But it seems somewhat futile for the boss to keep Gray in his squad given how the player has yet to be named in a squad so far.

The decision to keep him at Goodison Park is made more strange given how he could potentially be sold for quite a handsome fee due to the finances available in Saudi Arabia, along with Everton’s worrying financial situation.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have a plan to reintegrate Gray barring an unexpected late change, according to David Ornstein.
