Erik ten Hag banned for Manchester United vs Everton clash at Goodison Park after Luton Town win
Erik ten Hag will miss Manchester United’s trip to face Everton at Goodison Park on 26 November after getting booked in the win over Luton Town, according to Chris Wheeler.
The Daily Mail journalist reported via Twitter on 11 November after the Dutchman’s side recorded a narrow 1-0 win over the promoted side at Old Trafford thanks to Victor Lindelof’s goal.
His third caution of the campaign means he receives a one-match ban which will be served on the other side of the international break at the Toffees.
Sean Dyche saw his men take the lead three times in their 3-2 win at Crystal Palace on the same day, meaning Everton will already return in a fortnight full of confidence.
Stakes raised
With the Toffees in some of their best form for more than two years and Manchester United under all sorts of pressure there already looks to be an opportunity for Dyche’s side to take advantage at the end of the month.
Those chances can only have increased if the visitors’ manager can’t be on the touchline, with disorganisation apparently afflicting his team during a run of three defeats in five.
The Everton defence was oddly slack itself at Selhurst Park as both Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski betrayed their recent form to give away goals with errors.

But the side didn’t give up after the two equalising set backs, and on a day where Dominic Calvert-Lewin was kept off the scoresheet his teammates produced three goals to take the points.
A Vitalii Mykolenko header inside the first minute, another strike from top scorer Abdoulaye Doucouré, and a rare winner from Idrissa Gana Gueye saw Everton extend their run to just one defeat in their past six outings, with four wins in that time.
United are still seven points ahead in the Premier League table currently, but with belief clearly high within the Toffees squad at long last they will fancy their chances of narrowing that gap at Goodison at the end of the month.
