Sean Dyche to hold new Everton player meeting about points deduction this week
Sean Dyche is set to hold a new meeting with his Everton players this week after the Toffees suffered a 10-point deduction in the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported in its print edition (22 November, page 72) that it is understood that Dyche will urge his squad to continue to use an “us against the world” mentality on the pitch after the independent commission’s punishment.
Everton’s international stars will return to training later this week as the final qualifying fixtures of 2023 come to an end. Once all the players have returned from their duties, it is understood that Dyche will get them together.

Against the world
Since arriving at Goodison Park, Dyche has worked incredibly hard to change the mentality throughout Everton’s side, making them much harder to beat and more resolute. That hasn’t been through footballing ability for the most part, instead being a result of their better mental strength.
This team have been playing with this us against the world mentality for several months now as last season, much of the football world was hoping to see Everton relegated to the Championship. But the Toffees stood up and performed when it mattered and dodged the drop.
Similar was true this season, when everyone was labelling Dyche’s side relegation fodder after a slow start to the campaign, only for the Toffees to hit their groove in recent weeks and begin climbing the table before the point deduction news broke.

This is a setback for Everton and one they won’t have wanted to experience at this stage of the season, but they have shown that they are capable of standing up and performing when the odds are stacked against them.
Premier League safety remains in touching distance and avoiding relegation remains in Everton’s hands.
Hopefully, Dyche’s message will ring true to his squad and his message will cultivate his players when they return from international duty. A win over Manchester United after the break would certainly help boost the sombre mood at Goodison Park currently.
