Everton injury news as Michael Keane now a ‘doubt’ for Premier League clash v Burnley
Everton defender Michael Keane is a doubt for his club’s upcoming match with Burnley, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The publication reported on its website on Monday (11 December) that the centre-back could be ruled out of a reunion with his former club.
The Liverpool Echo noted that Keane is currently dealing with a knock, having missed out altogether against Chelsea on Sunday (10 December).

“Michael Keane is a doubt for Everton’s trip to Burnley,” according to the Liverpool Echo (11 December). “He has been included in most of this season’s matchday squads but was absent on Sunday due to an ankle issue.
“Keane’s setback could see him miss out on the meeting with his former club Burnley and instead hand an opportunity to Ben Godfrey.”

Bad timing
Keane hasn’t exactly been favoured by Everton manager Sean Dyche this season, with the defender last starting in the Premier League back in August against Aston Villa.
The 30-year-old has only made six appearances in all competitions so far, with four coming in the league and two coming in the League Cup.
The Toffees travel to Turf Moor on Saturday (16 December) on the back of a superb 2-0 win against Chelsea at Goodison Park.
But Dyche will be up against it from the very start due to the absence of young centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, who is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the campaign against the Blues.
It is, therefore, very unfortunate timing for Keane to be dealing with an injury, with the centre-back certain to have come straight in for Branthwaite.
If injured, he will miss out on a return to his former club, with the 30-year-old having spent three seasons at Turf Moor before making the switch to Goodison Park in 2017.
