Everton message sent as ex-Newcastle United star Isaac Hayden plans legal action against 777 Partners
Tariq Panja has sent a new message to Everton supporters after news emerged that former Newcastle star Isaac Hayden is planning legal action against prospective new owners 777 Partners.
Hayden, who played for 777-owned Standard Liege in Belgium's top-flight on loan from Newcastle United in the first half of the season has revealed in an interview with Sacha Tavolieri [17 January] that he left the club over unpaid wages.
The 28-year-old midfielder is now planning on taking legal action against the Miami-based investment firm which has agreed to a deal to acquire Farhad Moshiri's 94.1 per cent stake in Everton which is awaiting approval from the Premier League.
Reacting to the news, New York Times journalist Panja sent a message to Toffees supporters via X (17 January) which read: "One for Everton fans concerned about who will own their club. Interview here with Isaac Hayden who claims he left Standard Liege over unpaid wages and will start legal action to get monies owed.
"Another fine mess for the good folk at 777 Partners."

It seems that a day can't go by at the moment without 777 Partners finding themselves in another mess as they await approval from the Premier League. Lawsuit after lawsuit has been levelled at the American firm all as they attempt to prove they are fit and proper owners.
The financial conduct authority may well have given the takeover the green light, but so far there has been little indication that the Premier League will do the same and you'd have to imagine this latest news won't help their chances.
If an owner has shown themself to be incapable of paying player's wages on time at one club, surely they cannot be allowed to take over the reins of another team that they could run just as recklessly?
Everton supporters may well be desperate for Moshiri's reign at Goodison Park to come to an end, but it's quite possible that the alternative of 777 Partners could actually be worse for the Toffees in the long run.
