Crystal Palace now appear to have stolen a march on Everton to emerge as favourites to sign Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique.

According to Diario de Sevilla [25 January], the London outfit are in a more advantageous position to secure the services of the Brazilian this month.

ABC Sevilla reported on 24 January that the Toffees had even made an approach to sign the 23-year-old, who has been touted as Arnaut Danjuma's replacement.

This move will certainly put Sean Dyche on edge as he's seldom got his way as Everton manager and watching one of his desired targets joining a Premier League rival will not be good news.

The prospect of losing out on Henrique to a Premier League rival, particularly Crystal Palace, poses a significant setback for Everton and Dyche.

Henrique's dynamic attacking prowess and potential as a winger make him a valuable asset, addressing the Toffees' need for offensive reinforcements.

The urgency for the club to act swiftly is underscored by the risk of missing out on a key target, disrupting their strategic plans for squad improvement.

The pressure is heightened by the fact that they have struggled to secure desired signings under Dyche's management.

A delay in securing Henrique could not only weaken Everton's squad depth but also provide a boost to a direct competitor in the Premier League, further challenging the Goodison Park outfit's aspirations for a stronger and more competitive team.
