Everton transfer news as update emerges in Man United Jarrad Branthwaite pursuit

Manchester United have Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite “on their radar” amid their plan to lower the age profile of their signings.

That is according to i news, with the publication reporting on its website on Tuesday (6 February) that major changes to the football operations at Old Trafford are expected this summer.

Those changes will come into play immediately once new part-owner Jim Ratcliffe’s investment in Man United is ratified, i news added.

Everton in strong position with Branthwaite

Toffees centre-back Branthwaite has been one of the stars of Goodison Park this season, with the young defender forming a superb partnership alongside James Tarkowski.

They in turn have been helped by their full-backs, and certainly by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, but it is Branthwaite that has stolen much of the headlines.

And that is perhaps unsurprising given his rapid rise to the top, but unfortunately for Everton his displays are now seemingly catching the eye of many big clubs.

Manchester United are just one of them, but the Goodison Park club remain in a strong position in any potential saga this summer.

The priority should be keeping the 21-year-old on Merseyside for as long as possible, but if that comes to an abrupt end this summer, Everton should still receive a substantial fee for his sale.

While plenty of figures regarding the central defender have been discussed, his exact value remains unknown, but the youngster should leave Goodison Park for a huge sum if an exit is the outcome.
