Everton injury news: Doctor shares Andre Gomes update v Brighton
Everton midfielder Andre Gomes may be ruled out of the Brighton game on Saturday, 24 February according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has claimed that in the worst case scenario, it could even be a Grade 3 rupture which would cost him a few more weeks and fitness issues as well.
The Portugal international missed a large chunk of the season and returned for a few games before another spell on the sidelines.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Gomes:
“The worst case scenario would be a Grade 3 calf rupture which would cost him a few more weeks and even more fitness issues.
“Calf injuries are really tricky to deal with.
“There is a good chance he’s out until the end of the month.
“It depends on where he is with his recovery but the club will not be rushing him back, particularly given his injury issues before and at the start of the season.“
Will Andre Gomes be at Everton next season?
The midfielder is among the top earners at Goodison Park and there have been talks about him leaving at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old has made just two starts in all competitions this season and has bagged two goals.

He’s made headlines for his against Tottenham Hotspur but mainly Crystal Palace, but his struggles to stay fit may not sit well with the decision makers at Goodison Park.
