Everton: Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker deliver relegation prediction
Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker and Micah Richards all agree that Everton will stay up after seeing the Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal v Newcastle.
The Toffees secured a crucial point from St James’ Park with Calvert-Lewin bagging a late penalty which ended his goal drought.
With that result, Sean Dyche’s men sit in 16th place – four points clear of the drop zone.
Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, Shearer said: “Particularly at home Gary, and you look at their home fixtures they’ve got Burnley, Forest, Brentford and Sheffield United so I would think with that result last night and him [Dominic Calvert-Lewin] getting that goal, I would be confident that they’ll have enough to stay in the league.”
Richards responded: “I agree. I think they’ll stay up.”
Lineker chimed in to say: “Yeah me too.”
Everton cannot take their foot off the gas
Despite Everton currently holding a four-point cushion above the relegation zone and having a game in hand, they cannot afford to become complacent.
With only eight games left in the Premier League season, their position is far from secure.
The tightness of the relegation battle means that every point is crucial, and a slip in form could quickly see them plummeting down the table.
Furthermore, their remaining fixtures include clashes against teams around them in the standings, making each match a potential six-pointer.
The unpredictability of football means that no game is guaranteed, and the Toffees must approach each encounter with determination and focus.

Additionally, the looming threat of a potential points deduction adds further uncertainty to their situation. While the outcome of the hearing is yet to be determined, Sean Dyche’s side cannot rely on external factors to secure their safety.
