Everton to be hit by second Premier League points deduction

Everton are set for another points deduction in the coming days, according to Dan Plumley.

The football finance expert admitted that the latest published accounts only prove that, with the Premier League set to share their verdict on April 8.

The Toffees confirmed losses of £89.1million in their latest accounts, numbers which almost doubled from the year before at Goodison Park.

“I think, unfortunately, yes,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“I’ve said before we saw these accounts that another points deduction seemed likely, it was just the way the numbers were looking and the way the situation was heading with the charge as well.

I can’t see any other way here, where it doesn’t end with another points deduction, people will speculate and guess that may be somewhere in the region of another three points, as an example, because it seems we’ve set these benchmarks.

Let’s wait and see on the actual number, but just given the number that has been released and what we know about the situation, I can’t see any other way there is no further points deduction.”

Everton set for points deduction from Premier League

With losses almost touching £500million across the past five years, the mismanagement of the club has been staggering from Farhad Moshiri and his team.

If it is a similar points deduction to the first one, Everton could find themselves back in the bottom three ahead of a huge month of fixtures.

Fingers crossed that any punishment is not extreme.
