Everton injury news: Doctor shares Nathan Patterson update for Nottingham Forest game

Everton defender Nathan Patterson will miss the Nottingham Forest and Liverpool games, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has reacted to an update by the Daily Mail on 18 April claiming that the Scotland international may even miss Euro 2024 with Scotland.

This comes after he picked up an injury in the 6-0 defeat against Chelsea and it's understood to be a "high grade" hamstring setback which requires surgery, as confirmed by Sean Dyche.

The Toffees host Forest in a relegation six pointer on Sunday, 21 April, before a cross-city trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool on 24 April.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Patterson:

"Patterson appears to have sustained an extremely serious injury against Chelsea and there were fears right at the time.

"Now, reports claim that he could be out for the EUROs and that's terrible for him.

"This looks like a high grade injury and even in the best case scenario, he is certain to miss the next few games.

"There was also the possibility of him needing surgery and scans have offered some clarity on the situation and confirming that."

Everton may not have Nathan Patterson back this season

Right now, the club will be playing it by ear as nothing has been confirmed as to how serious his setback is.

However, he will be out for the next few weeks in the best of cases, adding to Sean Dyche's woes this season.

It remains to be seen how serious it is and in his absence, the onus is on Seamus Coleman and Ben Godfrey to share the load at right-back.
