Sean Dyche to drop Abdoulaye Doucoure for Everton v Sheffield United clash

Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure struggled against Luton Town on Friday, 3 May and Sean Dyche may decide to drop him for the Sheffield United game.

While the Toffees managed to secure a 1-1 draw, the result could’ve been different had the defenders not put up a good performance.

The Toffees play host to the Blades on 11 May in their last home game of the season at Goodison Park.

Everton must axe Abdoulaye Doucoure from the eleven

According to Sofascore, the 31-year-old could only make 28 touches in the time he spent on the field of play.

He also completed just 17 of his 23 pass attempts with an accuracy of under 74 per cent.

When Dyche brought him off and later got on Youssef Chermiti, it pegged the Luton side back – something he wanted to do with Doucoure playing.

Despite getting into decent positions, the Mali international failed to even get a shot at goal, damning when the team was struggling to create much.

Doucoure also lost 66 per cent of his ground duels which is supposed to be his bread and butter.

He was even dribbled past six times and Dyche will not have been happy.

It has been a tough season for Everton at Goodison Park.

If not Chermiti, bringing Andre Gomes in place of the midfielder could work as well.
