Everton transfer news as Manchester United set to submit offer for Jarrad Branthwaite alternative
Manchester United are increasingly likely to submit a formal offer for Jean-Clair Todibo as an affordable alternative to Everton gem Jarrad Branthwaite, according to Give Me Sport.
The outlet reported on its website on Monday (6 May) that while landing the Toffees centre-back remains a top priority, the Red Devils are not certain that the Blues would let him leave at an affordable price.
Therefore, United have earmarked Todibo as a key target in the lead-up to the transfer window following international discussions at Old Trafford and they appear set to test Nice’s resolve with an official approach come the end of the season.
Will Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United in the summer transfer window?
If this report is true, it could well be music to the ears of every Everton supporter ahead of the summer transfer window. Sean Dyche and his team will be absolutely desperate to keep the young defedner at Goodison Park.
Some reports had suggested that the Toffees could be forced to sell the centre-back this summer as 777 Partners takeover continues to drag on [Daily Star, 4 May] with more and more issues appearing to appear each and every day.
While that may well be true and it seems hard to imagine a big-money offer being brushed aside come the summer, the Blues can only accept that offer if it is actually submitted and it doesn’t seem like United are willing to pay for Branthwaite.

Todibo is a similar profile and is known to the United owners because of their connections with Nice. If he is more affordable than Branthwaite, the Red Devils may just decide to cut their losses and bring him to Old Trafford instead.
Hopefully, United do decide to spend their money elsewhere. That way Dyche may be able to hang on to his gem for just a little while longer.
