Everton loanee Neal Maupay sends message to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

Everton loanee Neal Maupay has sent a message to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah on Twitter after an image was uploaded on 24 May.

The Egypt international donned a new look and shared the image on social media, and Maupay, who spent this past season on loan at Brentford, wasted little time in replying to him.

He joked that Salah was copying his style as he cut off his long hair and donned a new look.

Via Twitter, Maupay wrote: “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Welcome to the slap head club brother.”

Neal Maupay unlikely to have a future at Everton

Maupay’s performance at Everton has been underwhelming, with only one Premier League goal since his arrival, leading to frustration among fans.

One season later, he does not appear to have improved and getting him off the wage bill should be a priority.

Brentford have shown interest in retaining him after a loan spell, which could provide Maupay with a fresh start and a chance to rediscover his form.

Additionally, the Toffees are undergoing a period of cautious decision-making, suggesting that they might be looking to restructure their squad, possibly by offloading players who haven’t met expectations.

The Toffees spent big money on Beto last summer and even though he wants to leave, they would want him on for another season.

Adding Maupay to the mix makes little sense, and it’s best they get money off his sale and re-invest in other areas of the pitch.
