Manchester United transfer twist emerges in Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite pursuit

Manchester United will have to pay £60million for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi who has been lined up as an alternative to Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, according to Give Me Sport.

The media outlet reported on 26 May that if United, co-owned by billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, deem it impossible to land Branthwaite, they will set their sights on Guehi.

They also have Wolves’ Max Kilman on their radar, but the Toffees centre-back is understood to be their priority.

Everton must gauge Jarrad Branthwaite’s transfer stance

The Toffees must strive to retain Branthwaite due to his immense value to the team and his potential for future growth.

At just 21, the centre-back has already demonstrated his defensive prowess, becoming a key player in Everton’s backline.

His performances have attracted interest from top clubs, with Manchester United among those interested in securing his services.

The Toffees’ financial situation and the need to balance their books may tempt them to consider selling Branthwaite.

However, the club should recognise the long-term benefits of keeping him.

His partnership with James Tarkowski has contributed to their solid defensive record, and losing him could significantly weaken the team’s defensive capabilities.

If Branthwaite does express a desire to leave for Manchester United, the Toffees should ensure they receive a substantial transfer fee.

Given how the market is today, they can be rest assured that one of the super-rich sides will be able to fund the transfer.

In other Everton news, a European club is open to selling their centre-back for £21million as Jarrad Branthwaite’s transfer development has emerged.
